Vietnamnet Global, one of Vietnam’s pioneering and leading official online newspapers, has featured the recent cooperation between PSL Machinery and the Government of Ghana, highlighting a shared commitment to accelerating the development of Ghana’s cashew processing industry and expanding local cashew value addition.
The article covers the official work visit of a Ghanaian government delegation to PSL Machinery. The delegation was led by Dr. Andrews Osei Okrah, CEO of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA), accompanied by Her Excellency Mrs. Florence Buerki Akonor, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Vietnam and Malaysia, and Ms. Alexandra Asiamah, Head of Chancery of the Ghana High Commission in Vietnam and Malaysia.

During the visit, PSL Machinery’s leadership team presented a comprehensive development roadmap for Ghana’s cashew sector, outlining strategies to strengthen domestic processing capacity, promote industrial development, and maximize value addition from cashew nuts within the country. Discussions focused on long-term solutions to support Ghana’s ambition of increasing local cashew processing and reducing reliance on the export of raw cashew nuts.

The key outcome of the visit was the signing of a landmark Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Agreement between PSL Machinery and the Government of Ghana. The partnership establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at accelerating the growth of Ghana’s cashew processing industry through the A-to-Z cashew factory solutions. PSL Machinery will deliver solar steel building construction, advanced cashew processing machinery, full factory management, professional workforce training and long-term operational support. The plan also includes a dedicated kernel buyback program designed to provide market assurance for the local factories built under this partnership.

The initiative supports Ghana’s broader industrialization agenda by promoting local value addition, creating employment opportunities, developing technical expertise, and strengthening the competitiveness of the country’s cashew sector. By expanding domestic processing capacity, Ghana aims to retain a greater share of the value generated from its agricultural resources while fostering sustainable economic growth in cashew-producing regions.
